1. After his parents died, Louis Vuitton ran away at 13 with nothing, but a dream to succeed. He walked 292 miles in 2 years, doing odd jobs on his way to Paris.

2. LV learnt to make ‘personal boxes’ for Napolean’s wife for 17 years. Thanks to Napolean, LV won other powerful clients, who supported him until the end of his career.

3. LV started his 1st boutique & grew the business. His door sign read: “Securely packs the most fragile objects. Specializing in packing fashions.”

4. LV expanded & modernised travel boxes. He then created the ideal trunk shape: it was flat without rounded edges or extra details, & waterproof.

5. In 1886, Vuitton invented & patented a new lock. They were so confident in its reliability, they even challenged the illusionist, Harry Houdini, to escape from a closed LV trunk. Houdini didn’t accept the offer & his refusal helped to prove the perfection of the invention.
